More about the book: Bailey the bear cub loves living in the forest and exploring with her mama. She has no idea that her life is about to change forever. When she gets too close to a road near the forest, Bailey is struck by a car!
She is severely injured, and her jaw is broken, so a rescue team brings her to a wildlife rehabilitation center. Will surgery save her jaw? Can Bailey learn to use it again? Her only hope of returning to the wild is to prove that she is healed and able to survive on her own.
Through this captivating story, kids learn how veterinarians help animals inside the hospital of a wildlife rehabilitation center. The book also discusses bear diets, dens, and bear families. Bailey the Bear Needs Help! is both entertaining and educational, helping to instill in children an appreciation for animals and nature.
Her first book, Esther the Eaglet, was inspired by an eagle rescue that took place at her parents’ cabin. She learned so much about the unique and important work done by wildlife rehabilitation hospitals that she decided to research and write about more animal-rescue stories.
Christy lives just outside Minnesota’s Twin Cities. She enjoys spending time in nature, especially while hiking, kayaking, and camping. She is the parent to three amazing kids and goes adventuring with them as often as possible.
